The predominant reason we have selected Ocean Bay Recovery as our treatment centre of choice for our UK clients, is that the treatment sector is saturated with centres that take a one size fits all approach, are afraid to collaborate, and are primarily commercially driven. I find that a lot of the mainstream centres are insensitive to clients (and their families) needs, and more interested in the revenue. I was recommended OBR by a friend when I was coming out of a long, and abusive relationship. I felt like I had nowhere left to turn, and OBR agreed to let me join them as an outpatient for a week (due to family commitments I could not stay any longer). OBR was extremely accommodating and helpful during this time, although the reasons for me needing treatment were of a different nature to addiction specifically. The therapists, both inside and outside were absolutely incredible. Although it was intense, and sometimes extremely difficult, the experience was absolutely life changing for me. It gave me tools to deal with my situation going forward, and especially how to make better choices in the future. I also gained insight on past patterns, and my own self destructive behaviour. The facility is peaceful and discreet, and situated in incredible surroundings. The combined focus on intense therapy, with healthy physical activities, like yoga/pilates, and surfing is incredible. The morning swim on the beach every day is the best natural anti depressant! I am incredibly grateful to have spent the time I have at OBR and could not recommend it highly enough. I believe that regardless of the reasons for someone seeking treatment, the quality of therapy combined with the professional setup, is exceptional. I experienced a genuine interest and sincerity from all the staff toward my recovery. This experience and what I have learnt about myself is invaluable, truly life changing. The Recovery Centre is a comfortable and calming environment making for peaceful and healing experience. I arrived at Ocean Bay Recovery in a bad way but will be leaving a new creation. After years of struggling with addiction, and multiple methods of treatment and trips to various rehab facilities, I’ve found the help I needed here. Situated in St Francis Bay, a short walk away from the beach, I’ve throughly enjoyed my experience with Ocean Bay. The therapeutic team is great and has helped me to tackle so many hurdles in my life that were keeping me stuck. Their methods of treatment were definitely not what I’ve been used to but they have done a world of good for me. I’ve achieved more here in three months than I have in years of therapy. The facilities are fantastic, with a home gym and pool, as well as other recreational facilities. Being treated to weekly outings was also great, and helped me to come alive again and find out who I really am. If I could, I’d give them six stars. If you’re looking to get sober and develop a new-found love for life, or have a loved one struggling with addiction, this is the place to be. I will forever recommend Ocean Bay and I am grateful for their help in changing my life.
Upon the recommendation of our 24-year-old son's psychologist, we turned to Ocean Bay Recovery Centre in St. Francis Bay after our son experienced a relapse following five years of sobriety. From the outset, the staff exhibited utmost professionalism, providing us with comprehensive information and unwavering support. Understanding our son's resistance to treatment, they navigated our dilemma with empathy and expertise. Many of the staff members shared their own journeys of recovery, fostering a sense of relatability and understanding. Despite our son's legal status as an adult, he remained under our care and within our household. We deeply appreciated the staff's commitment to keeping us informed about his progress, offering weekly feedback sessions conducted by his primary counselor. This open communication proved invaluable, allowing us to navigate the situation with clarity and address our concerns and fears constructively, while actively supporting our son in achieving his treatment goals.
Ocean Bay encouraged our involvement in our son's recovery journey, recognizing the pivotal role of family support. This inclusive approach provided us with a sense of empowerment, enabling us to gradually restore balance to our lives amidst the emotional upheaval we had endured. Opting for extended treatment, our son benefited from additional guidance as he prepared to transition into a sober living environment.

Less than five months ago I arrived at Ocean Bay unable to walk up the stairs to pack my bags because of how sick my body had become during my addiction. This past weekend, I was able to run the Knysna Half Marathon. Ocean Bay helped me to achieve sobriety, and that sobriety has opened up a world of possibilities to me.
